WEDNESDAY UPDATE
We will be having batting practice at the cages next to Field 6 on Thursday at 6:30pm. Once you finish, you're OK to go!
Be at the field Saturday around 10:45am. Pictures are at 11:00am and then we will try to get in a bit of batting practice before our 12:00 game. Be sure to wear GRAY pants with BLACK belts and BLACK socks. Jerseys and hats will be handed out just before pictures.
Finally, bring your raffle tickets and money to batting practice tomorrow. It needs to be turned in on Friday. Thanks and see you all then!

SATURDAY PRACTICE: FYI
Clinton is having a tournament this Saturday. So, we will probably NOT be having our usual team practice. But, there are a number of us that are playing that weekend. Please: Come by and support your BLACK ARROW teammates and see what Rec season will be like this year. It will be a great thing to see what you can expect from this year. See you on Monday!
Saturday Recap
Great practice, guys. We're getting better! Just a recap of the things we told you after practice:
1. In the cage, you saw balls that were MUCH faster than most of you commonly see. That's good. As you get used to seeing faster pitches, you will feel much better about what is being thrown in our rec games!
2. We ran the bases pretty well, but all of us need to concentrate on our key points:
Wait until the pitcher makes his move to the plate!
Run FULL SPEED whenever we go!
Slide "feet-first" into a bag (except going back to 1st)!
Be ready to go at ANY TIME!
Know your steal signal!
3. At the plate, we all need to be confident and relax. There's no need to be scared to strike out. EVERY PLAYER WILL STRIKE OUT THIS YEAR! Just have fun!
Remember: when we come to practice, we act as if we are in a game. Be ready to give everything you have. See you all on Monday!

Be Ready For Monday!
Guys, come to practice on Monday night in baseball gear. Wear baseball pants so that you can practice sliding if necessary. The plan is to get everybody in the batting cages to see how we stand from that side of the ball and to continue practicing those things we worked on during our Saturday practice.
There is one rule we alway try to follow in Black Arrow Baseball: We practice as hard as we play. So, don't come prepared to goof off or give anything less than your best. We will be a team and everybody counts on you to do your part.
Let's get ready "to get ready"!

Message From The C.B.A.
Parents: This email was from CBA and spoke to the upcoming Fun Day and raffle tickets that you received today:
Dear Members of Clinton Baseball Association,
Your CBA board of directors is very excited to get this 2010 season underway, we had an outstanding response during registration – having almost 500 children registered in our association. As you know or will soon experience our facilities are second to none at Traceway. While we are very proud of our facilities we continue to invest in the infrastructure through our Clinton Parks and Recreation department. Over the years, this association has given very significant funds toward the infrastructure and improvements we enjoy today.
We need your help with our major fund raiser this year! Again we will be conducting a raffle drawing in conjunction with Fun Day activities:
1st prize will be $1,000 CBA Check (cash equivalent)
2nd prize will be a HD TV (approx. 40”)
3rd prize will be a stainless steel cooking grill
Our goal is for each player to sell a minimum of one book of tickets (10 tickets).
We know that many of you can do much more; therefore, we have issued your child’s coach a few extra books of tickets. Please keep track of ticket sold, as the top performers will be recognized (and “possibly” rewarded) for their accomplishments at Fun Day.
Also, please remember each kid selling a book of tickets (10) will receive a bracelet on Fun Day entitling him or her to enjoy the majority of activities free of charge. Of course if they sale 20 tickets they will be allowed to get another bracelet for a sibling or friend on Fun Day.
Thanks for your continued dedication to the program,
CBA Board of Directors.
